The Rosh Hashanah spirit has filled our classroom this week. Our bulletin board looks so beautiful, and we all helped decorate it by coloring apples, painting shofars, bingo dotting honey jars, and making thumbprint bees. We got to play with red floam in the shape of apples. We loved feeling the floam between our fingers. Morah put out bags of honey that we were able to squish and it felt so good. Morah taught us about some of the many things we do on Rosh Hashanah; We dip apples in honey for a sweet new year, which we did in class, and we hear the Shofar. Rabbi Hecht blew the shofar for us and it was so exciting to hear the sound that the shofar made. We used paint and painted plates and made handprint leaves to look like apples which turned out to be beautiful Rosh Hashanah decorations. We practiced our colors, and did a matching game to sort different colored apples - Morah was so impressed by how we were able to sort the colors so well. We made honey cake that we are happy to share with you - enjoy!
We will miss you all over Rosh Hashanah.
We wish you a Happy, Healthy, and sweet New Year.
