Chanukah Cont..

Dear Parents,
Happy Chanukah and thank you all so much for the generous Chanukah gifts!
What a fun "Chanukah"  week we had in school.
This week we learned about all the things we do on Chanukah; we light the menorah, play with dreidels, eat lots of latkes and jelly donuts, and spend time with our families.
We searched for dreidels in a bin full of flour,  we had so much fun finding them all.
We  finished decorating our Chanukah bags that hold all of our crafts that are being sent home. Candle color matching was lots of fun to do, and so was playing with floam. Dipping dreidels into paint and spinning them onto papers were just some of the art creations we made.
Lastly we made delicious Chanukah cookies,  which we cant wait to taste.
We had a special Chanukah fun day in Chai Tots, where we went from class to class doing different Chanukah activities such as; making Chanukah crowns, decorating donuts, dancing to Chanukah songs and so much more...

Shabbat Shalom and wishing you a very Happy Chanukah!

Chanukah

Dear Parents,

This past week in the Toddler class we learned all about Chanukah! It was so much fun to walk into the classroom and see all the Chanukah decorations. We decorated our bulletin board with a really pretty menorah, it looks so nice! We had fun doing dreidel color matching, and making menorahs with play-dough and candles. We all listened so nicely as Morah told us the story of Chanukah. We worked hard this week creating beautiful projects to take home. We painted our beautiful Menorah that we were so excited to bring home! Thank you to Milo's Grandma for donating some wooden pieces which look beautiful on our menorahs!
We took candles, and rolled them into paint that made really pretty patterns, it felt so cool to roll those candles all around!
We learned that the miracle of Chanukah is about oil ( finding the oil, and the oil lasting 8 whole nights instead of one ) we went on an oil hunt around our classroom. We took a medicine dropper, and dripped oil onto a paper, then we took spray bottles with paint, and sprayed paint all over the paper, because the paint and oil did not mix, it created a really interesting  picture. Those oil projects turned into our "drip mats" which also are being sent home to go under our menorahs. We want to make sure  the wax doesn't drip on the table, but rather on the drip mat. On the back of the drip mats there are the blessings we say before lighting the Menorah. We are so excited to continue learning about Chanukah next week!

Shabbat Shalom!
